The author describes his fate from his birth to his departure to America, and throughout the whole book the issue of anti-semitism is discussed. The author has had issues with nationalism, even when standing in line for housing. Only i|About the Author|Jacob Mann was born and raised in Ukraine in Jewish family. He worked as computer engineer, during the time of perestroika he has moved to the United States. In his new life in the US Jacob turned out pretty successful computer programmer, and

Russian language coming of age story of a Jewish boy set in 30 year span in the now defunct Soviet Union. In his memoirs and in included science fiction story the author reflects on the fates of Jewish people and on the roots of antisemitism. Despite the seriousness of the topic the writing is very entertaining and contains a lot of interesting details of the Jewish file in the second half 20th century.
